The Panthers Wait

I've been itching to get back to 3d for a while and decided to make a positive comeback, by making my first ever post in the gallery. This is the first time I have achieved fully accurate tracks on a vehicle.
This image took 19 hours work to produce, including the render time. The tanks have 2 4000*4000 maps on them, (although the d.o.f in the final image killed most the detail.) If I were to redo it I would have maybe reduced the dof to show the textures on the building more.
The tanks are very bare, but the Panzer V Panther tank was very streamlined and had no visible bolts. I was also inspired by accounts of tank crews in the final battle for Berlin, ditching their supplies to give them an advantage over the Russian's.
The building in the background is based on some observational drawings I made of berlin last summer.
Comments very welcomed!
Cheers

This is an old bunker that was built in the 1940's by the Americans in my local town to aid their invasion on D-day. Its perched above the sea gaurding a submarine dock.
I didnt have good reference for the image, but I know it well enough to be able to work front camera phone pictures. I have been practicing hand painting concrete for weeks and this is my first piece showing off my new skills.
It took 2 days to make, and uses 2 4000*4000 maps.
Comments welcomed.
Cheers

This piece took about 20 hours to complete and has spec, colour, reflection and displacement mapping.
